ABOUT US:

Seeonee Siberians have been the passion of Jim and Lynne Dagan since 1982. We currently are members of the Siberian Husky Club of America and the Rocky Mountain Siberian Husky Club. We live with our dogs and our daughter Natalie in the rolling hills just east of Colorado Springs, Co. Our mandate is to consistently produce dogs that rigidly conform to the official AKC standard in every aspect, with a particular emphasis on structure, movement, temperament and intelligence. Not just pretty show dogs, but dogs that are still capable of living working and surviving in the Siberian arctic. In this quest, we believe we have been highly successful, however, we continue to strive to perfect our dogs with each new generation. All of our dogs are certified clear of hip dysplasia and eye defects before they are bred. The purpose of this web site is to share pictures of some of our dogs and do a little bragging about their accomplishments.

Jamaica is Seeonee Siberian's number one food hound. I have actually seen her pick up and move a very heavy wooden doghouse with a 60 lb dog standing on top of it, just to get to a single nugget of spilled food! This is as much a testament to her strength and determination as her hunger. In addition to being very hungry she is a very nice bitch. Her best features are; a pretty head, an excellent front assembly, a wonderful, happy temperament and last but not least, The best sidegate we have ever seen

We believe that Trixie is the best Siberian that we have ever bred or owned. This is high praise indeed considering the quality of our other dogs, especially Vanna, Trixie's mother, who has an enviable show record herself. As if to validate our high praise, she went about proving us right in the specialty show ring during the year 2000. Her first specialty and her first time in the show ring was at the Rocky Mountain Siberian Husky Club Specialty under breeder judge Carol Nash, where she won a large 12 to 18 month class and was seriously considered for Winners and Reserve. Her second specialty was the Siberian Husky Club of America National Specialty under judge Charles Trotter. We were only hoping to make a couple of cuts, which she did, but she wasn't finished there. She not only won the largest open class in breed history, but went on to fulfill a lifetime dream of ours by being awarded Winners bitch over more than 300 other class bitches, a breed record! Her third specialty was the Siberian Husky Club of Metropolitan Dallas, under Breeder Judge Olivia Harvey, who awarded her Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for her second 5 point major, thus proving that her national specialty win was no fluke!  She finished her championship shortly before the 2001 national specialty and then went on to earn an Award of Merit at the national.  To our eye she is nearly flawless, excelling in proportion, structure, type, movement and temperament!

Lizzie is simply an eye catcher. Whether she is just standing there, cocking her head, looking at you with a sparkle in her eye, or showing off her nearly flawless movement, you can tell that there is something very special about this pretty little bitch. She finished her championship in a hurry with 3 majors, a Best of Breed, and a group 3. In fact she never placed worse than 2nd and never worse than Reserve Winners Bitch as an adult. She is also a wonderful dog to live with. Her temperament is ideal. She is one of the quietest dogs I have ever known. Her only vice is a weakness for stuffed animals, which she will try to shoplift at any opportunity! One other thing that is unique about Lizzie is that she is incredibly strong. She is a small bitch, only 20" but she is as strong any top of the standard male!

Avery was slow to mature, but once he matured, he finished in no time. In a stretch of 12 shows he had 6 wins, 4 of them majors! In the other 6 shows he was always in the ribbons. Though his picture doesn't do him Justice, you can still see that he is a handsome, stylish dog with nice length of leg and correct proportions. His best features are his pleasing head, exceptional front assembly, outstanding sidegate and of course that wonderful, easygoing temperament that makes him such a great companion. Avery has sired several litters and the puppies have been of consistently high quality. We are excited about our Avery kids and can't wait to get them into the show ring!

Vengy had to wait in the wings until her sister, Ch Seeonee's Incredible Journey, finished her championship and then wait for her coat to come back in before she could start her show career. Because of these two reasons she didn't get her start until mid August of 2000. In spite of this she still managed to garner 12 points with both majors in very limited showing. It did not take too long into 2001 before this voyager completed her odyssey to her championship. Vengy is a lovely, middle of the standard bitch, that excels in excellent, correct movement who is correctly built and proportioned. Like her sister she has a wonderful temperament and really enjoys the whole experience of dog shows and enjoys the company of every dog or person she meets.

Shiloh is the self-appointed activities director of Seeonee Siberians. She initiates and is part of, most of the play that goes on here. She is rough and tumble with the adults and gentle with the puppies. She is also one of those dogs that takes everything in her stride, nothing bothers her. No matter what is going on she is calm and relaxed, sometimes a little too relaxed. When some judges are looking for a bitch that is "asking for it," she is just way too serene and relaxed to look that "animated." In spite of her laid back attitude, she started 1999 with only 4 single points and finished 1999 needing only 2 single points to finish her championship. She had little trouble picking up her final 2 points in 2000. In fact, she finished in style with by taking her third major. Physically, she is a beautiful, 20 1/2" bitch with a lovely head, correct proportions and excellent, balanced movement. We are very proud of Shiloh and were very pleased that she became the 3rd Seeonee owned and the 6th Seeonee bred Siberian to finish their championship in 2000!

Rhea is a bigger bodied bitch, but is a fabulous mover. She has as good a front assembly as you could hope to find and a super strong rear assembly to go along with it. She covers ground beautifully and single-tracks front and rear.

We would like to congratulate Cheryl Chang on Rhea's championship. Cheryl brought Rhea over to Hawaii and co-owned her with us while showing her to her championship. Thank you Cheryl!

Karson is a beautiful bitch in every respect. From her completely correct movement, to her beautifully correct type and proportions, she truly is a fabulous example of the breed. She finished her championship very quickly, which is a tribute to her overall quality and beauty.

Magic really never puts a foot wrong. His out and back is perfect and he covers ground very efficiently. He is a well built, correctly proportioned young dog with a great attitude for the show ring and especially for sled work. He has the attitude, endurance, power and speed to be an asset to anyone's Siberian team.  Magic finished his championship in April of 2002, making him the 5th dog from his litter to finish their championship. He is now looking forward to continuing his career as a sled dog.  His best features are; a very strong front and rear, very correct proportions, excellent overall balance and a great working attitude.

Magic is a litter brother to our own Ch. Seeonee's Incredible Journey and multiple group winner Ch Seeonee's Point Blank, owned by Marie Falconer and Doug Haloftis.

Annie came to us from Cheryl French's Topaz Siberians. She is a lovely bitch with fabulous movement. Her first time at a show she was selected as BOS in Sweeps at the RMSHC specialty. We are looking forward to showing her to her championship and she is already making an impact on our breeding program.

Superlatives seem inadequate when we talk about Vanna. Rather than describe her, we will let her accomplishments speak for themselves. Her specials career started in June of 1996. She was owner handled at just 20 shows until March of 1997 when she was placed in the capable hands of Marie Falconer who exhibited her until November of that same year. In spite of the fact that she was never advertised, which is so critical to a top winning special going against top competition, and the short duration of her campaign, she still finished her career with 56 Best Of Breeds, 31 group placements, multiple group wins, a Best In Specialty Show and to top it all off, she was Best of Opposite Sex at the SHCA National Specialty! She finished 1997 as the #5 Siberian and #1 Siberian bitch all systems. She also won the prestigious SHCA Top Winning Bitch award for that year. All of these accomplishments were achieved while competing against many of the top dogs in the country.

As impressive as her show record is, her greatest accomplishments may end up being in the whelping box. She has 13 champions to her credit, including a multiple BIS / BISS winner and three Asian BIS winners! There are two more very close to their championships. When all is said and done, she is likely to be among the elite on the all time top producers list!

Vanna was spayed after her last litter and settled down to retirement as matriarch of our kennel. However, because she was looking so nice and missing the shows so much, we decided to enter her at the 2002 National Specialty. It turned out to be a great decision, Vanna had a great time and did quite well in the competition. It turned out to be a real celebration of her life. She won the Brood Bitch class, Best veteran, and earned an Award of Merit. Her son Ch Seeonee's Point Blank was awarded Best of Opposite Sex, also her son Seeonee's Aim High Of Takari made all the cuts in open dog class and her daughter Seeonee's Once Upon a Castlerock made all the cuts in BBE bitch. Not long after this, Vanna passed away suddenly. We are heart broken, but we are comforted by her legacy of superior offspring and grandkids who exibit her many qualities, not the least of which is her wonderful personality.

We feel that Vanna has had a profound positive influence not only on our breeding program, but even on the breed as a whole. She will be sorely missed.
